I would like to get rid of the salt and snow residue from my Ugg boots. How can it be done?

I have black Ugg shoes and a thick white film of salt and snow got stuck and became harder on the front of my shoes. I tried to treat the boots with the spray they gave me while buying. It did work fine for a moment. But it snowed again and now the residue is not willing to let off my Ugg boots. Can someone tell me any way on removing this?

Try to mix vinegar with water in equal proportions. Soak the shoe for a while in the mixture. Since you are talking about the residue which must have become hardened by now, the mixture will ease off the particles of snow and salt. Immediately clean with a dry cloth on removing the boots.
